I know a lot has changed over the past few weeks. Most of us had hoped that the country would be getting back to normal, but it seems as though that is far from the truth. A lot of states have chosen to extend their stay-at-home orders for the safety of our citizens and our country. I know another month of self-isolating and social distancing sounds very challenging, but we need to remember that doing nothing is the best thing that we can do. And I know that we can all do it.
I want you to know that you are not alone. We all share in this responsibility together. I am here with you on this long, dark, journey through this tunnel. We know there is a light at the end. We’ve seen it happen for others and we must continue to have faith that it will happen for us. It’s easy to fall into a negative state of mind. In fact, sometimes I myself start to feel a little defeated. It helps to know you’re not the only one struggling, feeling lost, and sometimes on the verge of giving up. If anyone is struggling, I’m here to remind you that we will get through this tough time together. You’ve done an amazing job thus far and you are making the world a safer place by taking care of yourself and others.
Please continue to be vigilant, and continue to self-isolate. If we don’t continue to stay safe, we risk taking a huge step backwards. I understand that you’ve sacrificed and worked hard during this last month, and it shows. We have already made such great progress in flattening the curve. I’m sure we will continue to make even more positive progress. We’re on this journey together.
